Today, Jesus leaves Bethany and walks right past the fig tree that is now completely withered from the roots up. That’s the power of Faith!
Here is Mark’s account: “And as they were passing by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots up. And being reminded, Peter said to Him, ‘Rabbi, behold, the fig tree which You cursed has withered.’ And Jesus answered saying to them, Have faith in God. Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it shall be granted him.” Mark 11:20-24
Teaching On Faith
In the coming days, all the disciples’ faith will be put to the test. Yet, Jesus knew these things and was giving to them the very weapon they needed to overcome…Faith. Faith moves mountains and it takes authority over the works of the devil.
Today, we are facing a mountain like never before. Faith will overcome. Fear will crumble and wither from the roots up. Let us rise up in faith today and overcome all fear.
Jesus then enters Jerusalem and walks into the temple that has been freshly cleansed by Him. As He enters, the chief priests, scribes, and elders approach Him and ask a trick question, trying to come up with a way to arrest Him.
They questioned by what authority He did things. His answer shut them up. (Read Mark 11:27-33).
They questioned Him regarding the greatest commandment. Jesus replied, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment. And a second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend the whole Law and Prophets.’” Matt. 22:37-40
In short, Jesus is saying, “Love God and Love People.” That’s our mission here at Celebration Church.
Supermoon Rises Tonight
Fresh on the heels of March’s supermoon, April’s supermoon will appear slightly bigger and brighter. Tonight, the moon will be even closer to earth this time around making it about 14% larger and 30% brighter!
The April full moon is referred to as the pink moon because it coincides with the blooming of the moss pink wildflower. (Photos above) Be sure to view it tonight after the sun goes down.
When it’s the darkest, light shines the brightest.
Wherever Jesus went, He brightened the place up. He’s still doing that today. He even invites us to do the same. He said that His followers are the light of the world and the salt of the earth.
If we’ll focus on the SON, step out in faith and light the world around us, we will be walking out the calling we’ve been given.
Ready. Set. Shine!
